Family Date

We have had different members of my family in town for the last two days, breaking up the drive on their way up to Utah for our family reunion next week. Because of this, we have been very busy playing and having tons of fun with nieces, nephews, brothers and sisters, which has made the past two days FLY by. After everyone left, Cody and I had a hard time deciding what we wanted to do with the rest of the day, and therefore ended up wasting most of the day being kinda lazy. By the time Preston woke up from his afternoon nap, we decided we were going stir crazy and HAD to get out of the house. We thought about taking the travel trailer camping for the night, going to a movie with the boys, going on a date without the boys, and we eventually settled on going on a date WITH both boys. It ended up being one of our best dates ever, and a lot of fun. :o)
We headed over to Hiro's for sushi, which Preston LOVES (he eats almost a whole roll by himself!) and he also stays very entertained playing the drums with his chopsticks throughout dinner. Then we headed over to Ross with the rules being:
#1. One parent/one child teams
#2. $5.00 cash limit per person
#3. 15 min. shopping time
#4. Parents get parents 1 gift/Boys get boys 1 gift
#5. Meet back at the car when done
Of course I stuck to the cash rule, while Cody went a little over, and we both ended up taking about twice as much time as allotted. Preston and I finished first and sat on the bench outside of Ross. As soon as Cody walked out with Porter, Preston ran over to Porter and threw his gift on him and yelled "Happy Birthday Porter!" (Hence why we couldn't go on a date without our two boys tonight- they are too much fun and make us smile constantly. :o)
Preston bought Porter a little bathtub boat with soft blocks which Preston has since claimed as his own. As soon as we got home, Preston started singing "Happy Birthday" to himself and told me his hands were dirty and he needed a bath with his "birthday cake toys". Funny boy. :o) Porter has since claimed Preston's present as his own... Hulk Hands. They fit perfectly.Cody and I were apparently on the same wavelength because I found him some perfectly fitting "Mountain Dew" pajama pants, while he got me a pair of pajamas along with a shirt. We had lots of fun and I think we are going to do it again, only maybe at the Dollar Store or Wal-Mart next time...
I LOVE my Boys!!! :o)
